چکیده

Miniaturizing spectrometers Optical spectroscopy is a widely used characterization tool in industrial and research laboratory settings for chemical fingerprinting analysis. High-end are typically benchtop based with bulky optical components, moving parts, long path lengths, they can deliver wealth of information ultrahigh precision bandwidth. There is, however, drive toward miniaturization spectrometers, which concepts nanophotonics to control light on much smaller scales. Yang et al. reviewed recent developments spectrometry systems, including various fabrication approaches systems the software that computationally determines spectra, strive shrink their footprint open up applications portable spectroscopy. Raman spectroscopy of human teeth using integrated optical spectrometers

We have designed an arrayed-waveguide grating in silicon oxynitride technology for the detection of Raman signals from tooth enamel in the spectral region between 890 nm and 912 nm. The detected signals for both parallel and cross polarizations are used to distinguish between healthy and carious regions on the tooth surface of extracted human teeth. Our experimental results are in very good agr...

Optical/UV single-photon imaging spectrometers using superconducting tunnel junctions

We present preliminary test results of optical/UV single-photon imaging spectrometers using superconducting tunnel junctions. Our devices utilize a lateral trapping geometry. Photons are absorbed in a Ta thin "lm, creating excess quasiparticles. Quasiparticles di!use and are trapped by Al/AlO x /Al tunnel junctions located on the sides of the absorber. The Ta/Al interface does not overlap the j...

Miniaturization of analytical systems.

Miniaturization has been a long-term trend in clinical diagnostics instrumentation. Now a range of new technologies, including micromachining and molecular self-assembly, are providing the means for further size reduction of analyzers to devices with micro- to nanometer dimensions and submicroliter volumes. Many analytical techniques (e.g., mass spectrometry and electrophoresis) have been succe...
